Why does this pose a problem during the Great Depression?

June 30th, 2013 2 comments

“More than 60% of the population was living below poverty levels, while a mere 5% of the wealthiest people in America accounted for 33% of the income, and the richest 1% owned 40% of the nation’s wealth."

Why does this pose a problem during the Great Depression?

The biggest problem was because there was a currency shortage, so to speak, in the country. With so many unemployed, few people had ready cash to use on anything but the most basic necessities. Those who did have the large cash reserves(i.e. the 1%) were unwilling or unable to spend their money to generate new jobs. There was a variety of reasons. Loss of potential customers, fear of government policies(look up the tax rate on those 1%ers back then),or being rich but not having liquid assets(owning land, industries, or other properties, but not much cash).
Years under the Roosevelt administration and his attempts to overcome the Depression failed, until the start of the war. Only then did currency begin to circulate more, though ironically the government then took actions to cut back on the money in circulation to curb inflation. War Bonds and rationing were two large tools. No matter how much money you had, in theory, without ration cards you could not buy products. War bonds helped finance the war as helping to avoid inflation.

What kinds of jobs and what are the processes do you have to go to as a 15 year old?

February 19th, 2013 2 comments

Pretty good and easy "best answer" if you’re familiar with jobs.
yeah, I’m only 15 and I’m looking for a job. I don’t know how to get a work permit, a bank account or any of that stuff.
Like, step by step.

Someone guide me on how to : -> get a work permit -> bank account.

a bonus would be if you could give me a list of jobs 15 year olds are applicapable of.

I live in the bay area (San Jose) It’d be helpful if someone can give me tips on what jobs to get as well.

No, you may not get my street address, for those pedos out there.

Here’s a short list of jobs which you can create to generate income:

1. Learn calligraphy so that you can provide handwritten invitations and thank you notes to prospective wedding parties, birthday celebrations, etc. Seek out clients through wedding planners at nearby churches and temples. A starter calligraphy kit usually runs around $20 and anyone can easily pick up this skill. The going rate is usually $1 per hand addressed item.

2. Become a "poser" who assists wedding photographers in setting and arranging various individuals in group and single photographic positions. "Posers" carry around a sketch book of various sitting and standing poses which consists of onion skin overlays of various wedding pictures bound in albums. Again, contact local wedding photographers and wedding planners, accordingly. The hourly pay is around $10-$12 per hour and you are often invited to attend all dining activities.

3. Seek from your neighbors a gardner position which involves planting, weed removal, plant/tree trimming, light brush clearance. You will be using the neighbor’s equipment and tools. Again, do not represent yourself as a lawn mower since there are any number of safety issues involved. A door-to-door solicitation of surrounding neighbors is required and you can charge between $6 to $9 per hour.

4. Offer policing/removal or clearance of trash services to surrounding neighbors which involve trash pickup within nearby residential area. Limit the extent of pickup to small areas and be aware that there are no hazardous terrain or elements involved in this process. Again, a door-to-door solicitation of neighbors is in order. You can charge between $6.75 to $7.50 per hour.

5. Acquire a set of window cleaning tools [a bucket, liquid window cleaner, sponge, squeegee, handle with an extension and a small step ladder] and solicit local businesses for your window cleaning services. However, be careful to limit the height of the window cleaning to no higher than one story. Charge $1 per window panel.

6. Become a proxy/stand-in for neighbors to allow delivery of goods and packages to your home/apartment. Acquire the authority to sign any receipt of incoming packages as an accepting neighbor. Charge $1 per each package handled by you.

7. Consider becoming a restaurant-cafe customer liaison by using your cell phone at restaurants-cafes to coordinate with the hostess to keep track of waiting customers. Whenever there’s a very long period of time to activate a waiting list, you want to offer the restaurant your services so that customers do not have to stand around for any lengthy period of time. And when their name/assigned number comes up; you can call the upcoming customer’s cell phone to tell them that they can return to the restaurant and be served. The call back fee is usually around $0.50 cents on a per head basis. For example, a couple would be charged $1.00 while children under 6 would not be charged. Placement of a plaque which outlines your fee schedule near the hostess station is sufficient to garner attention of prospective customers who will value your services since they can do other activities outside of the restaurant — often beyond the range of any inhouse paging system. You realize that everyone has a cellphone and why not take advantage of the connectivity to make the diner’s experience worthwhile. The restaurant will also appreciate the added service you are providing as a customer liaison.

8. Why not become a paid feeder servicing the disabled at nearby nursing, convalescent, assisted living/care centers and hospitals. It involves feeding food to patients who are unable to feed themselves. The starting rate is $8.00 per hour. The only downside is that one has to take precautions to wash one’s hands after each feeding. A posting of your services [by a business card or flyer] on a reviewable bulletin board would be enough to generate customers. The paid feeder position is one of the fastest growing occupation at this time.

Good luck!

What is the best on-line job to pad an income w/ no big investment?

I am a Service Technician w/ a reputable company. I have been doing this job for 14 yrs. My wife now wrks. 2 jobs to help us out. She has RA. and I hate to see her work so much. I want to find her a computer based job that does not require a lot of computer based knowledge, let’s say turn key. I have seen that Survey’s can generate a good amount of income, and some others seemed good too. Can’t afford to invest in a big sum of $ to get started.

Lets cut though the haze and all these"really great" deals out there.Common sense would dictate that the best deal would offer, NO start up costs, NO selling of any kind including cyber information, and NO service to provide ever as well as saying so right up front!
Stay with me for a minute here. This is what is known as a paradigm shift.
There is a business that pays people to do just what they are doing every day without a downside, such as added cost or obligation. That doesn’t mean you get something for nothing, it only means someone else is getting a greater benefit and rewarding you to do what it is that you do every day.
Now, if you’re still with me I will ‘Give’ you a business, FR*EE! Complete with your own web site, all the training (very simple) , support material, and even administrate the business for you. This makes it a passive business with potential earnings of $2000-4000/mo every month and more.
If I told you all ,you would not believe me. There is a site that explains in detail how you can be in your own business within 20 minutes. If you are serious about more than just ‘extra income’, if 20 minutes of your time is worth the difference of changing your life, go to WWW.BABBOMALL.COM and watch the ‘Business Video’.
Remember: Imagination is the tool, Determination is the fuel!
Good luck and God bless

What does the internet marketers out there consider to be the sure way to make money online?

December 3rd, 2012 3 comments

I am trying to accumulate income with Google AdSence but I have been unsuccessful in generating any income for myself. Does anyone have any suggestions the I can use to begin to generate income online I’m still trying to break though in making money online?

Many of the clients I write SEO content for make good money with Google Adsense by building niche websites, but keep in mind, they build more than one niche website. The income they earn through Adsense with more than one niche website adds up. Before building your niche websites, though, you need to find popular niches that you have knowledge about, or hire a writer with experience on that topic to write the content for you. The popular niches will be keyword phrases. Make sure the popular keyword phrases that you want to build a niche website with doesn’t have a lot of competition, and to make them work well with Adsense, they must also have a good average CPC (Cost per Click) — at least $2.00 or more.

The tool I use to build my niche websites and write content for my clients’ niche websites is the Google Adwords tool ( After you enter the keyword/keyword phrase you want to research, choose the "Show Estimated Avg. CPC" from the dropdown menu.

Finally, your niche websites need to have SEO content that includes the keyword phrase(s) you chose.

There’s a lot more to this, but it would be too long. The information I’ve given, though, should help get you started. For more information, search for "building effective niche websites" (leave the quotes around this phrase when searching).

I hope this information has helped you, and I wish you the best of luck.

Popular media today has become the tool to demoralize the cultural ethics and value of the common citizen?

November 10th, 2012 1 comment

Thesis statement for the persuasive speech-duration 3-5 minutes: Popular media today has become the tool to demoralize the cultural ethics and value of the common citizen of any nation.
I can either choose the "for" or "against" side for this statement (proposition or opposition) for their argument
Can you guys out there help me with making a presentation speech on the above mentioned topic?

Popular media today is firstly aimed at generating as much income as possible and if publishing junk stories is a reliable way to achieve that primary aim then that is the means used.
Popular media today has in many instances a secondary objective to gain power and influence over government and publishes or does not publish stories with the intention of gaining more of that influence.
