is islam or christianity the answer?
i believe in a supreme being, and every sunday you could catch me at the local church praising God the christian way, but i have lost faith, not in God but in christianity, it no longer seems to hold the values i once thought it did and the conflicting views of the faith just proves to me that it is a falsehood, a web of deceit designed to trap ones mind through guilt which can only be alleviated for a small fee. This whole concept of tithing to christianity baffles me,We state that an individual must tithe at least 10% of their income to the church, which does not pay any dues to the government, be it income tax or land tax, and this money is simply used to recruit new members thus generating more income and partly used to fund political candidates who promise to play along, i wholly believe that the christian symbol, the cross, should be replaced by a dollar symbol as money seems to be their master, not God.Many i have spoken to about this have stated that they truly believe in God with all their heart and find it insulting, yet i am not disrespecting their belief (when i hold the same) and they fail to see my point and attempt to defend christianity claiming it is the only was to praise God. Some even claim it is the ‘American way’.which scares me, a country willing to go to war for such a system is obviously deluded. many times the sermons sound more like religious rallies and justifications for a holy cause, political leaders know this and use the faith to further their agendas as only a few well placed words can easily whip up support from the truly pios."God bless America", who has ever heard this and wondered "why should he?", and i have even heard Sarah Palin claim that God himself supports the US troops and "wants us to build that pipeline" (in Afganistan). This whole concept of having a way to control the simple minded is quite clear when you wish to see it. And if christianity is wrong …then who is right?
Most of what i thought i knew about islam is through the media, Who seem to use this misinformation to discredit the muslim faith and cause us all to fear that of which we don’t understand.Couple that to your candidate of choice and again you have a very effiecient form of control, simply giving the pois what they want to hear in order to sustain support for other agendas.Religion is a very useful tool and i am not prepared to be a part of it any longer.
so my question is, is islam or christianity the answer? or is there simply no answer because there really is no question?
Christianity is the answer, the bible and the gospels remain the same. Following Christ does not mean surrendering your freewill. American way is not necessarily Christ way. Even if the church recommends donations it is used for charity. How do you think institutions like salvation army, cafod, sister of charity came to being ?
Islam is definitely not the answer, the media is being kind to it. It censors most of the truth about islam not to offends muslims. Read this:

Christianity is the answer my friend. You have to talk to your pastor about this loss in faith. He will have lots of sermons and miracles to tell you. Do not lose faith in God, for he is righteous. I have only been a Christian for a few years and have already experienced many wonderful things. You can experience them too!

There are hundreds of different religions currently existing in the world, with thousands of different Gods and Goddesses. You could easily fill a large city library with nothing but sacred texts and commentaries and analyses of all those hundreds of contemporary religions, and even more on the hundreds of religions that were wiped out by the violence done by Christians and Muslims.
And you have only looked at *TWO* religions out of hundreds — namely, the two religions that have committed the most brutal acts of violence and oppression in the world — and somehow you imagine that’s all the religions worth looking at??
Maybe you need a course in remedial arithmetic.
(Or at least a good course in comparative religions.)

you do not have to have a belief! Although you believe in a supernatural being, for me, i look at the universe scientifically, so you could call me an atheist. You do not necessarily have to follow a religion to believe that there is a supernatural being, you could just become an agnostic which i think is the right way to go because no one does know, so either way you can’t prove your point. That’s why agnosticism is the best way to go, you can still have your belief.

No one can give you this answer. You need to use your intelligence to find out the answer yourself. As you seem to know about christianity but not much about islam, find out about it. Read the quran, the deen show on the internet is also a good place to start, gain knowledge about the islam and come to your own conclusion.

There is only one religion from god, is to acknowledge; the existence of the creator, worship HIM, the best way HE has offered us through HIS messengers to guide and help us to remember; why we are here, for what reason ??
the divine formula is : knowledge (awareness of god) > worshiping him > happiness and contentment.
By this criterion; islam is the religion, Allah is the god, who sent messengers from Adam , Noah , Abraham, Ismael, Isa, ..Muses…..Isa (Jesus), and finally Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon them all).
Do you aware of the fact, that Jesus, never called his followers as (Christians) or call his religion (Christianity), Jesus is an honorable prophet of god, sent to the Israelis to correct their course, which they had deprived away from, and told them worship god ,my god and your god alone, the god of Abraham and all the prophet before me, the other doctrines of Trinity and salvation through Crucifixion; were conducted and adopted hundreds of years after the departure of Jesus, meanings he has not said this or write this, it is all Paul’s teachings.
Allha tells us in HIS divine book the Qur’an, that Abraham is the one who called the followers of Allah, Muslims; which means submitters to the only god, so all prophets were Muslims (submitters) .

no one can answer it correctly for you. i can say that Christian is the right way, just because i believe in it. i can also tell you that Islam is the way to go because you are tired of what you are seeing. but all i can say, is that you get a religion that you feel comfortable in. one where you find a sense of inner peace. makes no sense for me to say Christian and you wouldn’t be comfortable. it doesn’t make any sense saying Islam, and you wouldn’t feel comfortable. i’ll say that neither is better, it’s all the same. the choice is yours. you make it because you know that you are comfortable with it.

Here is what I know, from the Quran itself, about its founder Muhammad:
Muhammad was a slave-owning (33:50), warlord (8:1) who conquered Arabia with the sword. He presented a “flawless book” (4:82) that contained personal advantages for himself (33:50-53) and narrow-minded, sweeping generalizations about women (4:34, 2:228) and his enemies, the Jews (2:96).
