What are some good ways to raise money for a charity?
My grandmother had breast cancer twice and then finally died of liver cancer.(not b/c of drinking). Ever since then I have wanted to raise money for more breast cancer awareness. What are some good ways to do this? How would I go about setting this all up?
Thanks for any and all help!
I’m so glad you asked this question. I help run a national charity called Team Challenge USA. Recently, I was invited by another non-profit organization to join www.shopwurld.com. It is a rapidly growing national and international internet mall comprised of over 1,000 online name brand stores. When an individual joins shopwurld, it creates a fundraising machine that keeps on donating month after month, year after year. After you join shopwurld, you’ll invite your supporters to join (friends, family etc). You and your supporters will have an opportunity to shop from one of these 1,000 stores. And by doing so, not will that generate monies for your cause, but it also create an income opportunity for each supporter. This is a two way motivation never seen before in viral fundraising. Your supporters won’t be asked to donate a penny. Instead they will do the same shopping they already do which will accomplish two things: raise money for your cause and earn money for themselves. There are over 150 world wide charitable organizations that have joined shopwurld such as the NY Special Olympics, the American Cancer Society, and the National Kidney Foundation.
Joining shopwurld is completely free but you need to be invited.
Here is my invite ID#. It is K2FXZN. Feel free to use it to get started with shopwurld. You’ll need this number in order to join. It really is a powerful fundraising tool. Feel free to contact me at alisonarod@hotmail.com if you have any questions. Great luck to you and I hope this helps.
the best way to raise money for charity is to have a fund raising day!
hold events such as non uniform days and other cool stuff as well

Carwash–put the hottest girls on the corner with signs. Here–we have alot
of fast food places–like chic-fala, they let you use the parking lot–just keep the fat chicks behind the scenes–and have the hot chicks wash-
t-shirts and shorts will draw the crowd. It is usually free–with a donation
made. Good Luck—-sorry about your grandma–

The Susan Komen Foundation is a great charity for and provider for Breast cancer patients. Raceforthecure.com (or you can google it) is going on in November. You get people to sign pledges of money and you run. It is an amazing event. My niece ran for me. I have breast cancer, but I am doing good, no reoccurrance for 2 years now.
Another charity for cancer that I love is "Stand Up To Cancer". They are on Facebook, the web, and even received money in the Presidents Stimulus package for funding to research for a cure.
I am sorry for the loss of your Grandmother. My mom died at age 37 of cancer. I was 16 then. My young second cousin just died 2 weeks ago of brain cancer. I hate cancer. I hope you will join one of these causes. Carwashes with friends, bakesales at a church, rummage or yard sales are fun ways to raise money and awareness.
