is islam or christianity the answer?

November 3rd, 2012 Leave a comment Go to comments

i believe in a supreme being, and every sunday you could catch me at the local church praising God the christian way, but i have lost faith, not in God but in christianity, it no longer seems to hold the values i once thought it did and the conflicting views of the faith just proves to me that it is a falsehood, a web of deceit designed to trap ones mind through guilt which can only be alleviated for a small fee. This whole concept of tithing to christianity baffles me,We state that an individual must tithe at least 10% of their income to the church, which does not pay any dues to the government, be it income tax or land tax, and this money is simply used to recruit new members thus generating more income and partly used to fund political candidates who promise to play along, i wholly believe that the christian symbol, the cross, should be replaced by a dollar symbol as money seems to be their master, not God.Many i have spoken to about this have stated that they truly believe in God with all their heart and find it insulting, yet i am not disrespecting their belief (when i hold the same) and they fail to see my point and attempt to defend christianity claiming it is the only was to praise God. Some even claim it is the ‘American way’.which scares me, a country willing to go to war for such a system is obviously deluded. many times the sermons sound more like religious rallies and justifications for a holy cause, political leaders know this and use the faith to further their agendas as only a few well placed words can easily whip up support from the truly pios."God bless America", who has ever heard this and wondered "why should he?", and i have even heard Sarah Palin claim that God himself supports the US troops and "wants us to build that pipeline" (in Afganistan). This whole concept of having a way to control the simple minded is quite clear when you wish to see it. And if christianity is wrong …then who is right?
Most of what i thought i knew about islam is through the media, Who seem to use this misinformation to discredit the muslim faith and cause us all to fear that of which we don’t understand.Couple that to your candidate of choice and again you have a very effiecient form of control, simply giving the pois what they want to hear in order to sustain support for other agendas.Religion is a very useful tool and i am not prepared to be a part of it any longer.
so my question is, is islam or christianity the answer? or is there simply no answer because there really is no question?

Christianity is the answer, the bible and the gospels remain the same. Following Christ does not mean surrendering your freewill. American way is not necessarily Christ way. Even if the church recommends donations it is used for charity. How do you think institutions like salvation army, cafod, sister of charity came to being ?

Islam is definitely not the answer, the media is being kind to it. It censors most of the truth about islam not to offends muslims. Read this:

Christianity is the answer my friend. You have to talk to your pastor about this loss in faith. He will have lots of sermons and miracles to tell you. Do not lose faith in God, for he is righteous. I have only been a Christian for a few years and have already experienced many wonderful things. You can experience them too!

    Great question.

What the media portray as "Islam" is the wrong side of Islam.
It’s not the real Islam, that’s for sure!
If you wanna find the real truth about Islam, pls pls pls pls get in touch with a Sheikh or knowledgeable Muslims (Not in yahoo answers). It’s only fair to do it that way unlike asking non-Muslims "what is Islam?".

Fair game is the way to go.

Seek it with your best intention & you’ll find the truth.

"Is islam or christianity the answer?"

Let me make sure I’ve got this straight:

There are hundreds of different religions currently existing in the world, with thousands of different Gods and Goddesses. You could easily fill a large city library with nothing but sacred texts and commentaries and analyses of all those hundreds of contemporary religions, and even more on the hundreds of religions that were wiped out by the violence done by Christians and Muslims.

And you have only looked at *TWO* religions out of hundreds — namely, the two religions that have committed the most brutal acts of violence and oppression in the world — and somehow you imagine that’s all the religions worth looking at??

Maybe you need a course in remedial arithmetic.

(Or at least a good course in comparative religions.)

you do not have to have a belief! Although you believe in a supernatural being, for me, i look at the universe scientifically, so you could call me an atheist. You do not necessarily have to follow a religion to believe that there is a supernatural being, you could just become an agnostic which i think is the right way to go because no one does know, so either way you can’t prove your point. That’s why agnosticism is the best way to go, you can still have your belief.

If you have the need to believe in God, you can be a deist.
I don’t believe in a personal God that will burn people in hell if they did not believe in him , it is pathetic!

Look into deism, (I am not a deist, I am a pantheist) but maybe that is the right belief system for you.

The politicians will be politicians, whichever religion they belong to.All the religions are polluted by politicians and those who want to force them upon others.Your belief in the supreme being is right. The same being they call by God or Allah or many other such names and fight that the name they call Him by is only right. The answer is witiihin yourself. All the great ones like Jesus ,Muhammad Sahib ,Lord Buddha searched the answer through meditation (we in India believe that such great people come again and again to show us the way,but we start worshipping them instead of learning from what they want to teach us ).You could study about different religions and see for yourself that all of them are same.except for the worshipping systems.

No one can give you this answer. You need to use your intelligence to find out the answer yourself. As you seem to know about christianity but not much about islam, find out about it. Read the quran, the deen show on the internet is also a good place to start, gain knowledge about the islam and come to your own conclusion.

Any one is a Muslim by believing in one God , the last day and living righteous life .
In Islam Allah forgives anything ( if He wants ) except idol worshiping .
If you want to keep as a Christian then you shouldn’t worship Jesus but ONLY worship God the Father .
I don’t want to talk much about Islam or propagate for it , as I believe people should do research , weigh things , ponder and decide for themselves .
I would suggest one site if you’re interested in reading something about Islam

You have received a range of opinions, people pushing you one way or the other. But no one has actually looked at what you have written and heard your real issue. It is actually an issue that Jesus had with many of the religious of his day. In some ways I totally agree with your disillusionment – particularly the equating of patriotism with "christianity". I sometimes wonder – what does Christ really think? In other ways, I urge you to open your eyes to see the christians that aren’t that way. For all his disillusionment with the religious people in that day, Christ himself found some that really were genuine – including ones that were high in the religious establishment. Christian or Islam? – I can’t tell you which you should choose. But your issue is with christians – so find some genuine ones, ones that you can see are living in a way that Christ himself urged, and talk to them.

There is only one religion from god, is to acknowledge; the existence of the creator, worship HIM, the best way HE has offered us through HIS messengers to guide and help us to remember; why we are here, for what reason ??

the divine formula is : knowledge (awareness of god) > worshiping him > happiness and contentment.

By this criterion; islam is the religion, Allah is the god, who sent messengers from Adam , Noah , Abraham, Ismael, Isa, ..Muses…..Isa (Jesus), and finally Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon them all).

Do you aware of the fact, that Jesus, never called his followers as (Christians) or call his religion (Christianity), Jesus is an honorable prophet of god, sent to the Israelis to correct their course, which they had deprived away from, and told them worship god ,my god and your god alone, the god of Abraham and all the prophet before me, the other doctrines of Trinity and salvation through Crucifixion; were conducted and adopted hundreds of years after the departure of Jesus, meanings he has not said this or write this, it is all Paul’s teachings.

Allha tells us in HIS divine book the Qur’an, that Abraham is the one who called the followers of Allah, Muslims; which means submitters to the only god, so all prophets were Muslims (submitters) .

The Qur’an; is the final messege from god to all mankind, it is guidance and light and good tighding to all mankind, that they will be reserructed and rewarded for their good deeds and their nobole morals.

no one can answer it correctly for you. i can say that Christian is the right way, just because i believe in it. i can also tell you that Islam is the way to go because you are tired of what you are seeing. but all i can say, is that you get a religion that you feel comfortable in. one where you find a sense of inner peace. makes no sense for me to say Christian and you wouldn’t be comfortable. it doesn’t make any sense saying Islam, and you wouldn’t feel comfortable. i’ll say that neither is better, it’s all the same. the choice is yours. you make it because you know that you are comfortable with it.

As beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, I guess it is u who can be the best judge of what you see and hear.

christians can talk, but muslims do. Take a look around, maybe outside America, and see what threatens life most, other than sickness. Learn and research about both religions not the followers.

Christianity is the only way. I don’t know what Church you belong to but we are not required to hand over 10% of our salaries. I have a direct debit for an amount I can afford and of my own free will.

If you really want to find out the truth about Islam read http://www.faithfreedom.org or google The Devil’s Cauldron by William Whiteley – they sum it up perfectly.

Edit: Keep Thinking: "Muslims Do"? Do what, hate non-believers, suicide bomb innocent people on the underground, buses. That is pure evil if you ask me. If you want to be saved follow Jesus, the Son of God – only he can save you and no, he will not return as a Muslim.

Can’t speak for christianity… seems liek you have that down anyway.
Here is what I know, from the Quran itself, about its founder Muhammad:

Muhammad was a slave-owning (33:50), warlord (8:1) who conquered Arabia with the sword. He presented a “flawless book” (4:82) that contained personal advantages for himself (33:50-53) and narrow-minded, sweeping generalizations about women (4:34, 2:228) and his enemies, the Jews (2:96). He granted sexual rights to husbands (2:223) and allowed wife-beating (4:34) and polygamy (4:3). Slavery (30:28), as well as sexual-slavery (23:6, 70:30), was practiced by Muslims for over a thousand years. He says that you are not forced to convert (2:256) but then threatens you with the humiliating “infidel tax”, the “Jizya” (9:29), death, mutilation or expulsion (5:33) and an eternal hell (4:169) if you don’t.
