How could Excel be utilized to help with keeping track of the bills?

Excel is an excellent way to keep track of numbers/values – whether expenditures, income, or temperatures, grades, etc. and then generate reports from that data.

For instance, you might want to put the month names across columns beginning in column B (as headings) and, in column A, use labels for your bills. Then, enter the amounts spent on the items in column A for the various months in the other columns.

Then, use Pivot Tables to summarize your data – it’s a great tool. Use Excel’s HELP for examples of how pivot tables work.Once you work with them, you’ll find a variety of ways to organize your data. Graphs are nice, too – and fun!

Excel (or any good spreadsheet program) is awesome.

You can have it tally your monthly bills using it’s built in calculator or formulas.

for example, to add together numbers from a selection of cells, simply type without the quotes, "=SUM(CELL1:CELL2)"
