And in a bid to destroy this evidence, everyone tends to delete and clear the history.
However, majority of the people are not aware of the fact that just clearing the internet history or chat history is not sufficient to get rid of any of this intimidating data. The computer automatically stores all data, images, pictures, and websites, basically everything that you do in certain hidden files in the computer. Hence, to permanently eliminate all this unnecessary data from your computer, you need to install any of the popular internet eraser software available today. The internet eraser software allows you to delete your browser history, browser cache, cookies, and Windows temporary files. You can remove all unwanted files from your computer in just a few minutes. The internet eraser software assures the privacy and protection you were looking for. How do I find the hidden internet history files not cleared by simply using the delete history in tools menu?
I would like to view all history of websites visited on my computer. How do I? Do you know how to completely clear the history?
File Recover to view them (its not free if you actually want to restore the files)
and File Shredder to remove them (it is free)

On the top bar of your internet explorer is a sub heading called tools. After clicking on tools click internet options. If you have the latest version of internet explorer you will see an option that says browsing history under the "general" sub heading. Click the delete option and a little box will appear with options to delete cookies, temp internet files, etc… click delete all and everything will be erased.

I have Show All Hidden Files and Folders option enabled in Windows Explorer, and view, plus delete them from there. Windows Explorer: Start>All Programs>Accessories>Windows Explorer. Show all hidden files and folders option: Go to the top headers in Windows Explorer>click on Tools>Folder options>View tab>and scroll down, then ‘check’ the box next to "Show all hidden files and folders". Now when you open the ‘tree’, + sign next to My Computer>+ next to Local Disk (C:), + next to Documents and Settings>+ next to Owner,(or your name), double-click on History, you’ll see what you desire. Left-click on the first one, then hold the Shift key down, and use the Down arrow key to ‘highlight’ all the names. Let go of the arrow key FIRST, then the shift key. Now right-click out in the middle of the column you made, and choose Delete. Bye-bye! Sometimes you get pesky ones left behind,(cookies, etc.) I go to Control Panel>Performance and Maintenance,(this is in Category view),> Free Up Hard Disk Space. Between the two, they always go bye-bye.
If you check in Windows Explorer this way,(Show hidden option thing), you’ll see that the Internet Options delete thing,(technical term, lol!), does not delete them all. Yahoo puts a cookie on that lasts 30 years, Google 35 years,(check the dates next to the cookie!) Not with me, bubbie!

There are different kind of history stored when you visit websites.
1. History files: These are just URL’s that you have navigated through. To clear these, either go to Tools –> Internet Options and click "Clear History", or go to "History" on your toolbar and you can selectively delete history for certain sites.
2. Cookies : These are files which are saved by certain websites on your computer. These can reveal what sites you visited.
3. Images and other files , downloaded as part of displayed web page.
To delete 2, 3 go to Tools –> Internet Options –> Settings –> View Objects. This will list all cookies and other files , along with Internet Address they were downloaded from. You can choose to delete all or specific files.
